There are several reasons why Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs like ChatGPT are good for society. Firstly, AI can increase efficiency. Secondly, AI can enhance safety. AI can minimize human error and enhance safety results in industries like transportation and healthcare. For instance, self-driving cars may assist in reducing the number of collisions brought on by human error. And AI-enabled medical equipment may help doctors make more precise diagnoses and offer patients better treatment. Furthermore, AI also has the potential to advance scientific research. By processing vast amounts of data and identifying patterns that would be difficult for humans to detect, AI can help accelerate scientific discoveries and improve our understanding of complex phenomena.

AI may also assist people and businesses in making better decisions by evaluating data and offering insights. This may be especially useful in industries like banking and marketing, where precise forecasts and insights can result in substantial benefits. Additionally, AI can also offer better access to information. AI applications may assist people in precisely and rapidly finding the information they want through natural language processing and machine learning. This can be very helpful for those with impairments or those who live in rural or disadvantaged locations. Lastly, AI can improve language translation. With AI-powered translation tools like ChatGPT, language barriers can be reduced, allowing individuals and organizations to communicate more effectively across borders and cultures.

There have been warnings for years about artificial intelligence and its consequences for the future. The future is now, apparently, and this chatbot could ruin lives. Even the 'tech guru' behind the ChatGPT is scared of his own creation. 

ChatGPT will threaten jobs, especially writing jobs, as well as legal industry jobs, technology jobs, and media jobs. Further, in education, it heightens the potential for plagiarism which is difficult to recognize if generated by AI. Some even claim it will 'kill the student essay,’ transforming criteria. Moreover, AI can generate creative works, such as movies, songs, poems, and even artwork, thus potentially displacing jobs of all kinds, not just those requiring physical labor.

Additionally, this particular chatbot, ChatGPT, has an open left-leaning bias. There are examples of ChatGPT being ideologically programmed, such as not admiring President Trump, while it does President Biden. It shows bias against religion, able to joke about Jesus but not Muhammed. It affirms moral contradictions, such as those around elective abortion, and the controversial belief that 'trans women are women,' which are heavily ideological, non-neutral positions to take. 

Furthermore, there is a risk this chatbot will further contribute to misformation and bias. Henry Kissinger believes it’s dangerous, claiming that 'ChatGPT-style AI systems could one day break human consciousness, usher in a new wave of tech-reactionary religious mysticism, and fundamentally collapse reality as we know it.' Interactions with ChatGPT show it has become an 'unhinged nightmare.' 

The risks of this AI transforming society outweigh the potential good. Many do not consider these bots as something needing regulation, but not doing so will have 'alarming ramifications,’ such as disinformation, cybercrime, and terrorism. Despite many warnings about AI, we should slow our dystopian trajectory where AI will think for us.
