Fact Box

  • The Super Bowl LV will take place on Sunday, February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be playing against the Kansas City Chiefs.
  • The Super Bowl is an event that determines the winners of the championship of the NFL. It is one of the “most-watched sporting events in the world” with over 170 countries watching yearly.
  • The Buccaneers and the Chiefs have played in 5 games together. Tom Brady, one of the “greatest quarterbacks,” will be playing for the Buccaneers, while Patrick Mahomes the “magnificent” is leading the Chiefs.
  • Last year, the Super Bowl (Chiefs against 49ers) brought in 99.9 million viewers in the United States. The year 2015 ranked the top in Super Bowl viewership totaling 114.4 million people.

Bill (Bucs)

The Tampa Bay Bucs will complete a dream season by winning the Super Bowl on Sunday night. There are a number of reasons why they will leave the field as champions. The most experienced and successful quarterback in the history of the National Football League leads Tampa Bay. Tom Brady will be making his unprecedented 10th start in a Super Bowl, and no one has more wins in the Big Game. Brady's knowledge, experience, and determination are unmatched, and Tampa Bay's offense is in excellent hands with him at the helm.

Tampa Bay's defensive line will keep the pressure on Patrick Mahomes, reducing his time to find open receivers and causing him to make errant throws. The Buccaneers' linebackers and secondary will make Mahomes pay for his mistakes. One need only look at the NFC Championship Game where the Bucs handled the league MVP Aaron Rodgers and forced turnovers that led to 14 unanswered points.

Tampa Bay has a balanced offensive attack with a talented receiving corps and productive running backs, enabling them to control the ball and take valuable time off the clock (while simultaneously keeping the ball out of Patrick Mahomes' hands).

But perhaps two intangibles will prove to be difference makers in Tampa Bay's quest to be Super Bowl Champions. The Bucs ended a three-year streak of losing records this season after acquiring Tom Brady as a free agent. The Bucs will be making their first Super Bowl appearance after an 18-year drought and will likely be hungry to taste Super Bowl victory champagne in front of their hometown fans.

Tyler (Chiefs)

The Kansas City Chiefs should certainly be the favorites in Sunday's Superbowl. The Chiefs are housing a perfect storm of mind-blowing talent, leadership, and experienced coaching. According to Pro Football Focus, Kansas City has four of the top ten players in the NFL. While former MVP Patrick Mahomes receives the bulk of the attention, he has some formidable weapons around him. Wide Receiver Tyreek Hill and Tight End Travis Kelce both hauled over ten touchdowns this season while also surpassing the 1000 yard mark. The Chiefs also have one of the most stout defenses in the NFL. From having All-Pro Chris Jones on the defensive line to superstar safety Tyrann Mathieu in the defensive backfield, the Chiefs have a well-rounded team overall.

The Chiefs have a generational talent in former super bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes. In his first year as an NFL starter, he became one of only two players in league history to throw for 50 touchdowns and 5000 yards in one season. Mahomes has the rare ability to make plays with both his arm and his legs. Last season, he averaged the most yards per scramble out of any quarterback in the league, with 9.4.

The Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid is widely regarded as the best play-caller in football. Reid has formed a great relationship with Mahomes, as the two have noted their ability to communicate so successfully. Pairing that with his plethora of offensive weapons makes them a force to be reckoned with.
